2022 Season Preview

2022 exciting season preview from the Gallery Players

Our first full season at our new home and we couldn’t be more excited to present it to you our lovely supporters!

‘Celebrating Sondheim’February 19th. Our tribute to a much missed genius. (Tickets now on sale – click here for the show page, more details and to buy tickets!)

‘Gutenberg’March 9th to 12th. A madcap two-man musical spoof in which a pair of aspiring playwrights perform a backers’ audition for their new, ill-advised project – a big, splashy musical about printing press inventor Johann Gutenberg! Unmissable!! (Tickets now on sale – click here for the show page, more details and to buy tickets!)

‘Di and Viv and Rose’ April 4th to 9th. A wonderful play by the extremely talented Amelia Bullmore. Three students at a northern university decide to share a house in 1983. Life is fun. Living is intense. Together they feel unassailable. Di and Viv and Rose charts the steady but sometimes chaotic progression of these three women’s lives and their ultimately enduring bonds. This gem of a play shows how the lives of this trio of women are shaped by their friendship over some twenty-seven years with humour and sharp, unsentimental perceptiveness; it examines the very nature of friendship. The varied journeys of their lives take their toll on the characters, forcing them apart and stretching their relationships with each other to a near breaking point. But the bond remains. (Tickets now on sale – click here for the show page, more details and to buy tickets!)

‘Come back to the 5 and Dime Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean’23rd to 28th May. Another great play in which a group of James Dean ‘disciples’ meet up on the anniversary of his death and mull over their lives in the present and in flashback, revealing the truth behind their complicated lives. Who is the mysterious Joanne and what’s the real story behind Mona’s son, James Dean Junior? (Tickets on sale soon!)

‘The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole, aged 13 & 3/4’s – The Musical’13th to 23rd July. A new musical version of the much loved book. (Tickets on sale soon!)

‘Blink’September. Another new play, this time an intimate two hander (image to follow!)

‘Sunday in the Park with George’November. Book by James Lapine Music and Lyrics by Stephen Sondheim. Finishing our season we present one of Sondheim’s most personal and celebrated Musicals

And there you have it, seven more reasons to look forward to 2022!!
